A woven wrap is a long piece of material that you wrap around you and your baby. Totally adjustable to any body shape or size, the length of wrap you choose is determined by the carries you want to use it for rather than your size or your baby’s. There are various materials that can be used in a woven wrap. Cotton is popular as it is soft and quite supportive. Linen is another popular choice, longer fibers mean it is strong and gives wonderful support to toddlers and is very breathable, though can be a little stiff to start. Hemp acts in a similar way. Silk is extremely soft but requires hand washing and gentle treatment. Wool wraps again require gentle treatment but also thermoregulate to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. Blends of these materials can give you the best of both worlds. Our ten trained babywearing consultants are on hand to support you should you require any assistance in choosing a woven wrap. Our top tip for woven wraps: When tightening a back carry remember to stand up straight, if you tighten while leaning forwards you will have slack when you stand up.
